11 Must-know Instagram Reels Tips to Improve Your Strategy
Instagram's Creator Marketing Manager, Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli, shared 11 tips for creating best-in-class Reels. Here's a quick recap:
Relate to your audience: Create content that clicks with people. If they watch your Reels and think "that's literally me," you're on the right track.
Express your perspective: Showcase your personality. Share your passions. Teach people something. Or just share something that's uniquely you.
Engage in the conversation: Put your twist on conversations of the moment. Whatever's happening right now, people want to hear your take on it.
Let go of your fears: Remember that there's no "right" way to create a Reel. Your way is the right way. If you're having fun, chances are your audience will too.
Surprise people: Plan a big reveal, add a punchline, or end with a plot twist. Even something as small as an interesting transition may get people watching more than once.
No watermarks: Don't post Reels that are visibly recycled from other apps.
Shoot vertical content: 9:16 makes sure your Reels are immersive on mobile.
Tell a story: Great Reels typically have a beginning, middle, and end.
Look into the lens: Try using your selfie camera to create first-person, approachable content.
Make a cover photo: You can even use Stories to add text, save to camera roll, and then upload into Reels. Find out how to add an Instagram Reels cover photo here.
Share: Once you've posted your Reel, don't forget to share to Stories. You can also share to Facebook if you're prompted.
