Instagram just announced a new feature that’s bound to save you some time: the ability to post to multiple accounts at the same time!

Despite years of resistance from Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, rumors that Instagram was working on a native “regram” tool first started popping up late last year.

Just yesterday, Instagram confirmed the rumors to TechCrunch, noting that they were “rolling out this feature to provide a better experience for people who often post to multiple accounts.”

While Later users have been able to schedule posts across multiple Instagram profiles (and even other social accounts like Facebook and Twitter) for some time, this new feature is sure to help you save time!

Here’s everything you need to know about Instagram’s new features:

How to Post to Multiple Instagram Accounts at the Same Time

The new ability to post to multiple Instagram accounts at once is set to roll out in the coming days — but, unfortunately, it will only be available to iOS users (Instagram hasn’t mentioned when the feature will come to Android, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it happens in the next few months).

When you do get access to the feature, you’ll find the option to “Post to Other Accounts” just as you’re about to share a new post. It appears on the same screen that you add your caption and tags.

You’ll be able to toggle multiple profiles “on.” And doing so will cause the post you’re preparing to be shared to each of those accounts.

You’ll be able to toggle multiple profiles on.

And that’s about it!

One thing to note is you can’t alter the post for the different accounts that you’re posting to. The photo or video, caption, and tags will all be the exact same for each of the accounts that you toggle “on.” So we really only recommend using this feature if you’re sharing a post to accounts with similar communities.

For example, if you manage several travel-related Instagram accounts, posting to multiple accounts at the same time could be a great way to save time. On the other hand, if the accounts you manage have very different communities, using this new feature probably isn’t in your best interest.

We also recommend using this feature sparingly. Even if you do manage several similar accounts, posting the same photo or video to each of them could come across as lazy and ingenuine. It’s better practice to customize repurposed content for your different communities, whether that’s writing a new caption, using different hashtags, and even using a different filter.

Do you have access to the new feature? Are you planning to post to multiple Instagram accounts at once? Let us know in the comments!
