Introducing: TikTok Favorites.
Now, just like on Instagram, TikTok users can bookmark videos right on the For You page and organize them into Collections.
TikTok Favorites aren’t entirely new. In fact, the handy tool has been hiding in plain sight for some time now.
Previously, to access the Favorites and Collections features, users had to long-hold on a video and select “Add to Favorites”.
So, how does the feature work and what does it mean for the TikTok algorithm? Keep reading to find out.
How to Use the Favorites Feature on TikTok
The new Favorites button is on the right-hand side of the For You page and looks like a bookmark icon:
Tap the icon to add a TikTok video to your Favorites.
TikTok also introduced Collections — the ability to categorize your saved posts by topic, look, or any other classification you want to use to keep your saved posts organized.
Get creative with your Collections! Think of them as a personalized library of all of your favorite videos.
Press "+ Create new collection" to add more collections. You can add as many as you'd like.
Not only can users favorite videos, but they can also favorite sounds, effects, comments, questions, hashtags, and products.
To favorite a sound, press on the sound page and select “Add to Favorites”. For every other type of content, press and long hold on the screen until a pop-up appears.

How to Find Favorites on TikTok
When you’re on your profile, you’ll see small bookmark icon beside your likes:
When you press in, it shows all of the formats you can favorite: videos, sounds, effects, comments, questions, hashtags, and products.
If you want to see how many people are saving your TikTok content, you can look at individual TikTok video analytics.
Tap the three dots, select Analytics, and look at the number beneath the bookmark icon.
Will TikTok Favorites Impact How the Algorithm Works?
While not confirmed, it’s likely TikTok Favorites will be a positive indicator for the TikTok algorithm.
We know the TikTok algorithm considers user activity including likes, comments, shares, and completions so it’s only fair TikTok adds Favorites into the mix.
They’re a strong indicator that your content is resonating with your audience — they find it valuable enough to save it and come back to it later.
The move into favorited content on TikTok is similar to when Instagram first introduced Saves.
Instagram Saves became such a popular metric that many users began measuring saves over everything else.
As TikTok Favorites become more widely used, it will be interesting to see whether that same phenomenon follows suit. It’s definitely one to watch!
