Coming on the heels of their last update, Instagram just announced two brand new features for Instagram Stories… and they’re big!
Unfortunately for iOS users, Instagram has limited the release to Android for the time being — but that should change in the coming weeks.
Wondering what all the commotion’s about?
Here’s what we’ve been able to dig up on two brand new Instagram Stories features:
#1: Upload Multiple Photos and Videos at Once to Instagram Stories
Here’s the big one. According to the announcement, users on Android can now upload multiple photos and videos to Instagram Stories at once… meaning you can preview your entire story to make sure it’s just right before posting!
Not only does this cut down on the time it takes to create multiple stories but it’s also helpful if you’re waiting for a stronger connection before uploading all your photos and videos from the day.
To upload multiple photos and videos to Instagram Stories, all you have to do is swipe up from the Instagram Stories camera and then tap on the new icon in the top right corner of your screen.
From here, you’ll be able to select up to ten photos or videos from your gallery — it’s the same process as selecting photos and videos for your carousel posts.
On the edit screen, you’ll see a preview of all the photos and videos you selected at the bottom. You can tap each one to edit them individually.
When you’re all done, all of the photos and videos in your preview will upload at once in the order you selected them!

#2: Location Suggestions for Instagram Stories
The second update isn’t quite as impressive but it’s certainly handy! According to Instagram, now when you add location stickers to your Stories, Instagram will suggest locations that were close to where your photo or video was taken.
So even if you’re back at your desk, reminiscing about that amazing trip to Portugal last week, when you share a photo from your vacation and add a location sticker, Instagram will suggest places from near where your photo was captured.
Neat right?
Again, while the above features are currently only available on Android, we expect Instagram to roll them out on iOS fairly soon. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as new details come out!
